DJ, producer, and artist, Blaqstarr found much success in the underground dance music scene before being a key collaborator on M.I.A.’s wildly original second album, KALA and its hit single, “Paper Planes.” Blaqstarr was also a major collaborator and writer on M.I.A.’s third record, MAYA.
Blaqstarr has since produced and recorded tracks with Mos Def, Switch, Common and Baltimore female rapper, Rye Rye while also touring with Diplo and M.I.A. in support of the Rock the Bells tour.
Now a part of Diplo’s Mad Decent family, Blaqstarrr’s seemingly effortless string of catchy, booming club tracks has made him one of the most anticipated and observed beat-makers in the world. Currently releasing records through the major label, Interscope Records, Blaqstarr continues to remain a massive force in the music industry.
